Book Printing UK Terms & Conditions
Book Printing UK Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
“The Company” means Book Printing UK (BPUK), an imprint of
Bonacia Ltd.
“The Customer” means the company or person purchasing goods
or services from the Company.
“Goods” means any products or services supplied by the
Company.
“Writing” includes email communication.
“Content” means any files, artwork, text or material
supplied by the customer for print.
By placing an order with the Company, the customer agrees to
these Terms & Conditions.
2. Pricing, Quotes & Orders
Quotes are valid for 30 days and apply only to the
specifications provided within the quotation. Any amendments may result in
revised pricing.
Customers are responsible for checking and approving all
quotation details before placing an order. Once approved, production will
proceed in line with the accepted quotation.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend quotations prior
to order acceptance, including where material, supplier or shipping costs
increase beyond our control.
All prices exclude VAT unless otherwise stated. Delivery to
one address within the selected country is included unless specified otherwise.
Files must be approved by the Company before production
begins. Additional charges may apply where supplied files require amendments or
further work.
Discount codes are offered at the Company’s discretion and
may be withdrawn at any time.
There is a minimum order quantity of 10 copies for section
sewn orders and re-orders.
3. Proofs & File Approval
As standard, one proof copy will be supplied prior to full
production. Customers may choose between a digital proof or printed proof.
Additional proofs, proof type changes or requested
amendments may incur additional charges.
It is the customer’s responsibility to fully check all
proofs before approval, including spelling, grammar, layout, margins, imagery
and overall appearance. Approval of a proof confirms acceptance of the files
for production.
Unless a proofreading service has been purchased, the
Company is not responsible for identifying spelling, grammar or layout errors.
PDF proofs may not accurately represent printed colour
output. Where colour accuracy is important, we strongly recommend ordering a
printed proof or printed test page.
Slight colour variation between screen displays, proofs and
final printed products is considered acceptable within industry tolerances.
4. Refunds & Cancellations
Please refer to our separate Refunds & Cancellations
Policy for full information regarding cancellations, refunds, returns,
defective products and administration charges.
By placing an order with Book Printing UK, you agree to both
these Terms & Conditions and the Refunds & Cancellations Policy.
5. Copyright & Content
Customers are responsible for ensuring they own, or have
permission to use, all content, text and images submitted for print.
The Company accepts no liability for copyright infringement
relating to customer supplied material and reserves the right to refuse any
content considered unlawful, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory or otherwise
inappropriate.
Where content is supplied in a language other than English,
the customer may be asked to provide a summary of the material.
6. VAT
Customers are responsible for informing the Company where
VAT applies to their order. Where an incorrect VAT status is identified, the
Company reserves the right to correct the error and either collect unpaid VAT
or refund overpaid VAT accordingly.
7. Turnaround Times
All turnaround times are estimates only and are not
guaranteed.
Production turnaround begins once proof approval and cleared
payment have been received.
We strongly advise customers not to arrange launches, events
or release dates until books have been received.
The Company is not liable for delays caused by production
issues, third-party couriers, customs processes, supply chain disruption or
events beyond our reasonable control.

third-party delivery providers.
Customers ordering outside the UK are responsible for any
import duties, taxes or customs charges.
9. Inspection & Reporting Issues
Customers must inspect all goods upon delivery.
Any defects, shortages or damages must be reported within 7
days of delivery. Failure to report issues within this timeframe will
constitute acceptance of the order.
Where issues are reported, customers must allow the Company
reasonable opportunity to inspect the goods, including original packaging where
requested.
Where the Company accepts responsibility for an issue, we may repair, reprint or refund the affected products at our discretion.
9.1 Product Care & Environmental Conditions
Printed paper products are sensitive to temperature and humidity and may occasionally exhibit temporary curling or waviness in text pages or covers. In most cases, this will naturally settle within 7 days.
Any concerns relating to paper movement or curling must be reported within 30 days of receipt. The Company may allow a further 7-day acclimatisation period before commencing an investigation.
Customers must store books in a dry, clean, temperature-controlled environment and avoid storing books or boxes directly on concrete floors, against external walls, in garages, outbuildings, damp areas, poorly ventilated spaces, or locations exposed to excessive heat, moisture, condensation or direct sunlight.
The Company shall not be liable for defects or deterioration arising from unsuitable storage conditions.
10. Manufacturing Tolerances
Customers acknowledge and accept standard manufacturing
tolerances within the printing and binding process.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Minor
colour variation between proofs, print runs and re-orders
- Slight
variation in artwork positioning, trimming and spine width
- Variations
in paper feel or texture due to supplier changes
- Minor
foil positioning variation
- Occasional
printer dots or minor cosmetic imperfections
- Natural
paper movement caused by humidity or temperature
- Minor
cosmetic characteristics within sewn or handcrafted binding
These variations do not constitute defects unless they
materially affect the durability or functionality of the product.
Perfect bound books are not designed to lay completely flat.
Attempting to force books flat may compromise spine durability. Wire-O and Coil
bound books are excluded from this limitation.
Customers are responsible for supplying print-ready files
with suitable bleed, margins and ink coverage.
The Company reserves the right to reject files that may
compromise print quality or production standards.
11. Liability
The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the order
supplied.
The Company shall not be liable for any indirect or
consequential loss including, but not limited to:
- Loss
of revenue
- Loss
of profits
- Loss
of business opportunity
- Event
or launch costs
- Loss of anticipated savings
12. Payments
Payment must be received in full before production begins
unless a credit account has been approved in writing.
Approved credit accounts must settle invoices within the
agreed payment terms.
Late payments may incur interest charges in accordance with
applicable legislation.
Card payments will appear as Bonacia Ltd on bank statements.
The Company may offer Klarna payment services subject to
Klarna’s own terms and conditions.
13. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures caused
by events beyond reasonable control including, but not limited to, natural
disasters, strikes, war, terrorism, governmental action or supply chain
disruption.
14. Title
Ownership of goods remains with the Company until full
payment has been received.
15. General Terms
Email communication shall be considered contractually
binding.
The Company reserves the right to refuse service where
behaviour towards staff is abusive, threatening or inappropriate.
The Company also reserves the right to refuse work where we
believe we cannot fulfil the order to an acceptable production standard.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of
England and Wales.

and handling personal information responsibly.
