Book Printing UK Terms & Conditions
What these terms cover. These are the terms and conditions on which we supply products to you, whether these are goods, services or digital content.
Why you should read them. Please read these terms carefully before you submit your order to us. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide products to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, what to do if there is a problem and other important information. If you think that there is a mistake in these terms, please contact us to discuss.
DEFINITIONS
"The Company" means Book Printing UK (BPUK) and the customer is the company or person to whom this document is addressed.
"Carrier" means any person or business contracted by us to carry Goods from us to you, whether all or part of the distance.
"Writing" includes emails. When we use the words "writing" or "written" in these terms, this includes emails.
"Our Website" means the entire computing hardware and software installation that is or supports Our Website/s.
"Goods" means any of the Goods we offer for sale.
"Content" means any material in any form published on Our Website by us or any third party with our consent.
QUOTES AND CONFIRMATION
Any quote is valid for a period of 30 days. Quotes are only valid for the exact requirements requested and any alterations made after acceptance of the quote shall invalidate the quote. We must receive your files for approval prior to accepting your order. In the event that you place an order and pay online without us approving your files in accordance with these terms, subsequent charges may be imposed and you will be advised accordingly.
ACCEPTANCE OF ORDER
How we will accept your order. Our acceptance of your order will take place when we email you to accept it, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us.
If we cannot accept your order.
If we are unable to accept your order, we will inform you of this in writing and will not charge you for the product. This might be because we have identified an error in the price or description of the product or because we are unable to meet a delivery deadline you have specified.
Orders placed and files submitted with greater than 25% toner area coverage (eg. white text on solid black background) and dark images will result in degraded performance, such as smearing, loss of image quality, mottle, light solid areas and toner scatter. As a result, optimized printing may not be possible. New files can be submitted reducing the toner coverage. BPUK retains the right to reject or cancel any order where the level of toner coverage will, without question, jeopardise the quality of the finished product.
VARIATION ON COST
Current costs of production are subject to change from time to time, customers will be informed.
PROOFS AND PROOF READING
Proofs. Bound or PDF proofs are available for your approval. It is your responsibility to proof read, edit and re-supply files for printing if applicable. Until the proof is authorised or new files for printing are received, no additional work will be carried out. We will not be responsible for errors missed by you at this proofing stage. Requests for changes must be made in writing or email to avoid any errors. The turnaround time for a proof will be approximately 5 - 7 working days.
If you request us to make amendments, corrections or changes to style, an extra charge may be applicable and we will still require your proof approval.
Proof reading. We accept no responsibility or liability for any errors after you have approved the proof; if you have requested amendments, please ensure that you proof read the whole document again, thoroughly as we accept no responsibility for any errors in layout, spelling or grammar, made by our designers which you have approved.
Colour proofs. BPUK recommends that if you are having any colour work printed, you should order a hard copy proof. If you are attempting to colour match please request a test page as colours vary from monitor to print. If a hard copy proof is not requested you will be liable for any errors or colour variations.
Equipment variances. Due to equipment variances, i.e. paper type, ink and other condition changes between the colour proofing and production pressroom operations, a pleasing colour variation may occur between the printed proof and final print. When such variation occurs, it will be considered acceptable.
PDF proof. To provide a faster turnaround, we are able to supply you with a PDF proof. Please be aware that PDF proofs may not provide an accurate colour representation of the final work. We recommend any printed colour work should be proofed with a hard copy proof. You shall be liable for any errors if a hard copy proof is not requested.
Experimental work. Any experimental work carried out at your request will be charged at the agreed rate.
OUR PRODUCTS
Products may vary slightly: Although we have made every effort to be as accurate as possible, because our products are handmade, all sizes, weights, capacities, dimensions and measurements indicated on our website have a [2]% tolerance.

Product care. Paper used is subject to changes in temperature and humidity. Printed paper products may from time to time exhibit curling/waving in text pages and cover. Generally this may take up to 7 days to settle to a natural state. Books should not be placed on a concrete or similar floor, against external walls as this will expose them to moisture or condensation. A dry, clean environment is recommended.

If you wish to make a change to the product you have ordered please contact us. We will let you know if the change is possible. If it is possible we will let you know about any changes to the price of the product, the timing of supply or anything else which would be necessary as a result of your requested change and ask you to confirm whether you wish to go ahead with the change.
